Rachael Ray Undergoes Vocal Cord Surgery

After years of putting surgery off, TV host and cooking machine Rachael Ray has gone under the knife to repair her ailing vocal cords. PEOPLE exclusively learned that Ray underwent the procedure last week. According to Ray's rep, Charlie Dougiello, "Rachael decided to have a benign cyst removed from her vocal cord." Dougiello says that "the minor, non-invasive procedure was a success and she is already resting at home." Prior to the surgery, Ray had been attempting months of vocal therapy to no avail. Citing Ray's boisterous personality, Dougiello joked that "the hardest part for Rachael is going to be giving her voice a rest for the next week or so."
