Dark Blue with Dylan McDermott debuts tomorrow night on TNT

In Dark Blue, Dylan McDermott is Carter Shaw, the leader of a crack undercover team of police officers whose relentless pursuit of LA's worst criminals has cost him any semblance of a personal life. Shaw is a deeply wounded character, having lost his wife and much of his former life as he struggles to bring down criminals through complex undercover assignments. His team includes: Omari Hardwick portrayed by Ty Curtis, a recently married cop who struggles to maintain his dual existence; Logan Marshall-Green as Dean Bendis, a shoot-from-the-hip officer whose activities make fellow team members question his loyalties and Nicki Aycox is Jaimie Allen, a green patrol cop with excellent lying skills and a hidden past.

Dark Blue TV poster
"The Jerry Bruckheimer label ensures that the new project will be dark, gritty and handsomely produced, though for the most part the series hews closely to safe procedural terrain -- taking far fewer chances than its life-risking protagonists. "Blue" does offer a few zestier character flourishes toward the end, but the dreary first mission is better executed than conceived."  Variety

Mascara reinvented: the turbo-charged motion mascara with a vibrating brush

Both Estée Lauder TurboLash All Effects Motion Mascara and Lancôme Oscillation are powered by tiny batteries contained in their caps. The Estée Lauder wand starts softly trembling as soon as the cap is unscrewed (and turns off again when it's twisted back on); Lancôme's has a button on the side that lets you control when it vibrates. The pulsating motion of these wands is supposed to eliminate clumps and coat each lash all the way around for more fullness. Maybelline is entering the growing segment of unique lash-enhancing products with the upcoming release of its newest product, Define-a-Lash Pulse Perfection.

Estée Lauder TurboLash All Effects Motion Mascara

Estée Lauder 's turbo mascara is available exclusively at Saks Fifth Avenue for $32. Turn on the power and the brush does the rest. An innovation of design and engineering, this motion mascara promises to help you achieve lash effects you never thought possible with volume, length, curl and separation all at once. With micro-pulse bristles, the brush works its magic, moving rapidly continuously separation and saturating your lashes with a rapid release gel formula. Finds lashes you didn't even know you had and coats them instantly and perfectly. The motion brush keeps lashes clump-free.  In Style (August 2009) rated this vibrating mascara as "best for thickening."

Clear lip liner by Benefit creates invisible barrier for lip color or gloss

Clear lip liner can keep the contour of your lipstick defined without looking harsh or artificial, says Cristina Bartolucci, the cofounder and creative director for DuWop Cosmetics. Apply the liner before your lipstick and you create a physical barrier that blocks the color from seeping into those teeny vertical lines around the lips, so your color stays neat. And because clear liner is undetectable, you'll never worry about having a ring around your mouth once your lipstick fades. Ensure that your lipstick stays put with Benefit D'Finer D'Liner ($20 at Sephora).
